Position Title: Technical Sales Representative- Animal Nutrition
Part/Full:Full Time

Position Summary: This technical sales role is responsible for managing multiple facets of the sales process and expanding the companyís profitability in the animal nutrition industry. Building and maintaining relationships with customers, identifying customer needs, and striving for customer satisfaction are essential.


Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute account strategies
- Build and maintain customer relationships at multiple levels
- Negotiate supply contracts - Forecast customer product supply needs
- Maintain a high level of customer service with existing and prospective customers
- Provide market intelligence (industry trends, competitive behavior, new applications)
- Provide technical support and product training to nutritionists and those in the feed sales pipeline
- Resolve customer issues by acting as the primary interface between customer and internal resources (technical, supply chain, customer service)
- Identify competitive advantages, product arguments and customer solutions as part of the product positioning concept
- Represent the company at public and professional functions (i.e., industry meetings)
- Additional duties may be assigned

Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelorís degree from an accredited 4-year college or university
- 5+ years of demonstrated success in sales or account management in animal nutrition industry
- Demonstrated strategic selling and negotiation skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal relationship skills
- Demonstrated aptitude in networking and building relationships
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Computer software skills applicable to position (i.e., Microsoft Office, CRM/ERP software)
- Willingness to travel (~50% business travel)
- Current valid driverís license and insurance with a safe driving record

Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Masterís degree in Animal Science or Agricultural Business
- 10+ years of experience in sales, key account management, marketing, and client services in animal nutrition industry focused on dairy and/or poultry
- Proficiency in Spanish
