Job Summary:

The Department of Animal & Dairy Science at Delaware Valley University invites applications for two full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, depending on qualifications. The successful candidate will begin in the Fall 2026 semester and will be committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching, student mentoring and departmental success.


Teaching Responsibilities:

This position will teach a variety of undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses that support the department’s curriculum. Courses may include, but are not limited to: Introduction to Animal Science (lecture and lab);
Production-focused courses such as Meat Science, Beef Science, or Swine Science; Animal Reproduction; Animal Genetics; and Other courses may be assigned based on the departmental needs and the candidate’s expertise


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include: Teaching courses and laboratories in Animal & Dairy Science; Advising and mentoring students; Maintaining regular office hours; Participating in curriculum development and outcomes assessment; Developing and maintain professional contacts within the industry; Remaining current in the field through ongoing professional development and scholarship; Serving on faculty committees as assigned or elected; Participating in professional development activities; Attending scheduled faculty, departmental and university meetings; Contributing to departmental operations and special initiatives; and Demonstrating flexibility and willingness to teach courses as needed by the department.


Education and Experience: A Master’s degree in Animal Science or a closely related field is required; A PhD in Animal Science or a D.V.M. with relevant experience is preferred; Prior experience teaching at the undergraduate level is required.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills; Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, student mentoring and educational excellence; Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team; Commitment to ongoing professional growth, scholarship, and service.
