Position Title: Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist
Part/Full:Part Time

The Department of Poultry Science at Texas A&M University is seeking an Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist with expertise in poultry product quality, food safety, and processing. This faculty member will develop and deliver educational programming and applied research to support both small-scale and commercial poultry producers. Responsibilities include creating Extension resources such as workshops, training programs (including HACCP), publications, and certifications, while also conducting applied research in areas like poultry processing methods, value-added products, microbiology, sustainable practices, and small flock management. The successful candidate will collaborate with Extension agents, industry stakeholders, and academic colleagues across Texas, pursue external funding, publish scholarly work, and support youth and graduate student programming. A Ph.D. in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Food Science, or a related field is required, with preferred experience in poultry processing, post-harvest food safety, and Extension education.
