Position Title: Research Trial Assistant

Would you like to make a difference in the beef and dairy industries by helping to manage research trials in the launch of important new diagnostic tools? Advanced Animal Diagnostics, an innovative R&D company bringing rapid diagnostic tests to livestock operations, is seeking candidates for a research trial assistant position. The position is available immediately for a minimum of 6 months and may become a permanent, full-time position with additional responsibilities based on the employees’ performance and skill sets demonstrated.

Key responsibilities:
• Oversee data collection on feedyards and ranches
• Collect and test blood from beef and dairy animals
• Ensure compliance with research trial protocols
• Coordinate with cooperators to ensure research trials are executed with minimal disruption to the operation
• Review data and assist in data summary and presentation

Desired qualifications:
• Master’s degree preferred or B.S. in animal science with extensive animal handling/research experience
• Experience in the beef and/or dairy industry and blood collection
• Good communication skills and detail-orientated record keeping
• Ability to or willingness to learn dairy management software (PCDart, DairyComp, DHIplus)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Ability to travel extensively
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

The position is based in Durham, NC but the employee will spend a majority of time at feedyards and ranches assisting with trial management. Position reports to the VP of External Research & Technical Marketing and salary is commensurate with experience.
