|Position Title:||Instructor Equine Science|
POSITION: Full-time, twelve-month Instructor position in the Animal Science Department at Missouri State University. Salary will be based upon qualifications and experience, and a competitive fringe benefits package is offered.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach courses in Equine Science such as beginning hunt and stock seat equitation, advanced equitation over fences, riding instructor training, equine science and therapeutic riding. Additional duties include student advising; advise extra-curricular student activities; and recruitment. Successful candidate will serve as head coach of the Intercollegiate Horse Show teams; assist with public and media relations efforts; supervise and evaluate assistants and develop schedules in consultation with the Animal Science Department Head. Candidate may be required to assist with research projects in the summer and other duties as assigned by the Department Head.
REQUIREMENTS : Masterís degree in Equine Science or Animal Science or in a related field relevant to the position. A strong equine background; ability to teach wide range of equine and animals science courses; strong interpersonal, leadership, communication and motivational skills; coaching or assistant coaching experience in equestrian competition. Overnight travel to coach and supervise students is required. Budgetary management experience and demonstrated knowledge of the equine industry with evidence of professional experience in the horse industry.
