|Position Title:||NAES Field Lab Research Coordinator|
The Nevada Agricultural Experiment Station (NAES) at the University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting a Field Lab Research Coordinator. NAES maintains several field research stations across the state of Nevada. The two major research stations are located in Reno, NV, and serve multiple scientists with a diverse array of research projects. The Research Coordinator will coordinate and assist the research faculty and other researchers using the NAES field labs and serve as a liaison between the faculty and NAES staff at all field stations. Primary job duties include assisting in experimental design and set-up; coordination of field preparation and maintenance activities including fencing, soil preparation, seeding, weeding, spraying, fertilizing and watering; monitoring plots and greenhouse bays for general problems e.g. pests and diseases; monitoring irrigation system and scheduling, utilizing evapotranspiration data and crop coefficients; and assisting with Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and animal care and health issues.
Required Qualifications: Masterís Degree in agriculture or closely related field and two years related professional work experience. Relevant experience would include farm management, ranch management, or research for a federal or state agricultural agency.
