Position Title: Swine Colony Program Coordinator - CCTI

The Columbia Center for Translational Immunology (CCTI) at Columbia University Medical Center is a multi-departmental, multidisciplinary research center aimed at optimizing translation of advances in basic immunology from the laboratory to the clinic, understanding immunological diseases and events in humans and optimizing transfer of information and methodologies to achieve synergy between different disciplines of applied immunology. A candidate being sought for managing all aspects of a miniature swine production herd, including breeding of conventional and genetically engineered miniature swine. The Coordinator will be responsible for managing CCTI’s collaborative arrangements with contract farms and other outside suppliers, as well as interacting with internal program scientists to determine specific animal requirements for implementation of optimal pig production. Additionally, the Coordinator will supervise technical efforts required for phenotyping and genotyping of animals and ensure that all relevant records are properly maintained in our large animal database. Database experience and previous technical management experience are required. A minimum BS or MS in Biological/Agricultural Sciences with emphasis in Large Animal breeding and/or Genetics is also required.
