|Position Title:||Postdoctoral Scientist|
A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Reproductive Technologies group at AgResearch Ltd., New Zealand. The successful candidate will participate in fundamental research to generate enhanced genotypes in livestock. This requires: genome editing of industry-relevant target genes in cells and embryos; analysis of functional consequences in the male germline; expertise in IVP, nuclear transfer and chimera approaches. This work will benefit the development of new biotechnology-based agricultural practices for animal breeding. Our group at is based at the Ruakura Campus which offers excellent facilities in a park-like setting, minutes from Central Hamilton.
In addition to a PhD in a relevant field, the ideal candidate should have a strong background in livestock IVP/NT, molecular cell biology and mammalian cell culture techniques. Experience in oocyte and/or embryo cryopreservation would be an asset, although training will be provided for the successful candidate. Qualified applicants should be highly motivated to work both independently and as a team member in a highly interactive and creative environment.
